A Tea Ring Just Like Grandma's: A Gift of Recipes

This holiday season we hope your homes are warm, your ovens are full, and the scent of good cooking is wafting through your house.

I have a little gift for you this year, favorite recipes from my kitchen to yours. Recipes make a beautiful gift this holiday season. They can be passed down through families as traditions are born.

In this recipe book, I share a tradition passed down from my grandmother, to my mother, to my sister and I and finally to my nieces and nephews. Each year, we have a Swedish Tea Ring at Christmas that tastes just like Grandma Weber made it. I've tried to share the tips and tricks we use (it is a complicated recipe). It is not only a recipe, but has become a family experience of punching down the risen dough, making the icing, and brewing the peppermint tea that washes it down.

Sometimes food is more than food. It is memories had, memories shared, memories forming as we eat together food that crosses generations.

What are your food traditions?

Happy Holidays!
